10 Months Is Enough To Make An Impact- Vincent Ekow Speaks On Ministerial Reshuffle

Member of Parliament (MP) for Tafo and a deputy Local Government Minister, Vincent Ekow Assafuah has debunked assertions that it was too late for President Akufo-Addo to have reshuffle his ministers, with only 10 months more a general election.

According to him, there are a lot that could be done within ten months and thus, Ghanaians shouldn’t undermine the capabilities of the designated ministers.

Speaking on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV with Kwaku Dawuro, he noted that there’s a lot that could even be done in a day, to talk more of ten months.

“You can make a mark for yourself even in a month. For instance, in 2018 when I was appointed as a PRO to the ministry of Education, I was not an educationist but within 4 to 5 months, I was everywhere speaking as if I was one. I did that because I was committed to what I wanted to do, interested in knowing education and with the help of my boss, I could debate professors, doctors across the education fraternity. I was part of every meeting at the ministry that implemented the double track”, he said.

he stressed that ” I don’t think 10 months is too short to make an impact. Although it may seem short, I think if you know what you are doing, even if it is a day, you will be able to do something for Mother Ghana”.

“My minister is not entirely new to the place. He has been deputy local government Minister, so he has a better appreciation of the issues. He knows what he wants to do, how to bring his knowledge to bear for the ministry to achieve its mandate and I believe this mandate is not something the minister cannot bring out programs and projects to deal with it. I have no doubt in my mind that we will be able to deliver for Ghanaians”, he concluded.
