A group called the Africa Schools Sanitation Foundation (ASSF) through a recent research has stated that 10,000 public schools in the country have no convenient toilet facilities in their respective schools.
This according to the group, led them to start the initiative of building toilet facilities in public school to promote good hygiene.
”Government is doing their best in building toilet facilities however, government alone cannot do all the job. To ensure the progress of every country, there’s the need for individuals and organizations in the society to come together and contribute their quota in making society a better place. ASSF is apolitical- we do not belong to any political group neither are we doing this to shade any political party. Most of the toilet facilities were built many years ago by government and there is the need for renovation. The sad thing, is most of these schools are found in the capital cities-we need to come together and curb the menace”, he said .
Kwabena Antwi Boasiako, ace broadcaster and Kwame Tutu called on cooperate organizations and individuals to support the project to ensure the health and safety of young people in the various schools.
