The Asokwa District Court has remanded two juveniles in custody, following their alleged involvement in the killing of a 16-year-old boy at Anloga, in the Oforikrom Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
Dennis Owusu Ansah, a recent Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) graduate set to start Senior High School, after an argument led to the main suspect, a 16-year-old girl, allegedly stabbing the victim.
The second suspect, a 15-year-old girl is accused of abetting the murder.
Ehen, the accused first appeared before court, the female suspect was charged with murder and causing injury to Ansah, while the other female suspect was charged with abetment of murder.
The case has been adjourned to November 20.
Victor Owusu-Ansah, the brother of Dennis, after court proceedings, expressed confidence in the justice delivery system, after the court denied the suspects’ request for bail.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred following a dispute between Dennis and one of the girls while the trio was escorting a friend home.
Reports indicate that during the altercation, one of the girls allegedly stabbed Dennis in the rib with a knife, causing severe bleeding. Dennis was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
