2025 AFCONQ: Ghana’s Chances Of Qualification Are Very Low – Angola Coach

Angola coach Pedro Goncalves believes Ghana faces a tough challenge in qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The Portuguese coach made these remarks ahead of Matchday five of the qualifiers, scheduled for Friday, November 15, at Estádio 11 de Novembro.

The Black Stars are winless after four games, leaving them in third place in Group F with just two points, trailing both Angola’s Palancas Negras and Sudan.

Despite acknowledging Ghana as one of Africa’s top football nations and noting how special it is to play against them, Goncalves insisted that Otto Addo’s men face a difficult task in securing a spot in the tournament in Morocco next year.

“For us, playing against Ghana is always special,” Goncalves said in an interview with Ghanasportspage.

“Ghana is one of the best countries in African football, with wonderful players, especially in midfield and attack.

“Ghana is certainly a top contender, but I feel that, at the moment, their chances of qualifying are very low. It doesn’t only depend on them but also on Sudan, who just need a point from two matches to qualify. So, it will be a very difficult task for Ghana,” he added.

The Black Stars held their final training session on Tuesday and are expected to fly to Luanda later today.
