The Member of Parliament (MP) for Effiduase-Asokore, Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie has disclosed that forty one out of forty-three Ashanti regional MP caucus have declared their support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the next flagbearer for the NPP.
Speaking to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show on Movement TV/ Wontumi Radio, he explained that Dr. Bawumia is a great asset to the party and Ghana at large.
“Dr. Bawumia has proven over the years that he’s competent and the right choice to lead the party. He’s shown that he’s a coward Vice President. He has lived beyond expectations right from 2016. This is a Vice President who is a threat to the opposition even rather than the President himself. He’s an asset to us”, he told Kwaku Dawuro.
He added that as a Vice President, you should be fit to become the President and Bawumia is simply the best choice.
“Dr. Bawumia is a liberal person that flows with everybody regardless of your tribe, religion or personality. Both Nana Addo and Kufuor lovers have Bawumia at heart. That is how dangerous Bawumia has become in the political structures as it stands now”, he stressed.
He furthered that Dr. Bawumia has been able to pull people from all other camps to love him. This is because he’s calm, polite and humble yet firm.
Stressing that Bawumia doesn’t believe in politics of insults and therefore if you’re disrespectful, insult people then you can’t have a place with Bawumia.
“You don’t go and attack anybody to score a political point”, he said.
