The deputy Minister for Education for TVET, Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo, has emphatically stated she does not receive monthly salary for her ministerial duties.
According to the Minister who doubles as MP for Abuakwa North Constituency, Ministers who are also MP’s do not receive salary for their role and that there’s no budget allocation for their work.
Speaking on Movement In The Morning Show with Kwaku Dawuro, Hon. Twum Ampofo said that ”the President has cut off his salary, that of the vice President and his appointees. Ghanaians are always pointing hands to the facts that the President’s Ministers are very huge but what they do not know is the MPs who are also Ministers are not paid by government, we only receive salary from parliament for our parliamentary roles”.
She indicated that this is why the President appointed several Ministers because they are only paid as MP’s.
