Gov’t Never Listened To The BoG Boss And That’s Why We Are Here- Lakulaku

A communicator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sulemana Abubakar popularly known as Lakulaku, has stated the Governor of Bank of Ghana, Dr. Ernest Kwamina Yedu Addison, advised the President and the Economic Management Team(EMT) on the current economic woes.

His comment comes after some people have called for the removal of BOG boss removal from office due to depreciation of the cedi against the dollar.

Speaking on Movement In The Morning Show  with Kwaku Dawuro he said that ‘’BOG introduced a policy that  was meant to protect the cedi. They stopped giving certificates for businesses to charge in dollars. No one is supposed to rent in dollars or trade any form of commodity in dollars but yet we get several people out there who continue to trade in dollars. People continue to use dubious means to get the certificates for dollar trading”.

”The Governor has done his bit- he advised the President and the  EMT but they all we refused to listen- he foresaw the consequences of that action, and today we are here facing its effect”, he stated.

”Those who know Dr Addison very well are aware he is a very sharp and smart person who detests corruption”, he added.

He concluded that there could be people at BOG who are part of the problem and causing the current mayhem.
