Renting Out Expensive Kempinski Just To Speak? Mahama Is Rather At Crossroads- Dr. Forkuo

John Mahama is at crossroads in his political life and is in dire need, Dr. Solomon Kwarteng Forkuo has observed.

Dr Forkuo, a senior lecturer with the Kumasi Technical University (KSTU) stated on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Wontumionline.com that Mr. Mahama made the wrong choice by choosing to rent out an expensive and plush hotel like Kempinski to hold his lecturer dubbed ‘Ghana at a crossroads’.

He explained that he had expected the 2020 flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to have used less expensive place to organize his lecturer.

“Instead of you having your lecturer at a place everyone can afford, you went to Kempinski. Does it show we are at crossroads? Bring the bill so that we can see what you paid to the hotel for us to tell if Ghanaians are really suffering”, he said as he downplayed the propaganda from the former President.

Mr. Mahama claimed that during the ‘Ghana at a crossroads’ lecture that “Being a pandemic, COVID-19 affected almost every country on earth including our West African neighbours with who we share similar economic characteristics.”

“Yet, these neighboring countries such as Cote d’Ivoire, Togo, Benin, Guinea, Nigeria, Liberia, Senegal, and Sierra Leone, have emerged from this pandemic comparatively unscathed and with relatively stronger fundamentals as compared to ours.”

He also stated that he accepted the responsibility for the energy crisis and fixed it.

“It is inconceivable that any leader in these times of crisis and hardships would seek to shirk responsibility, absolve himself of blame, and fail woefully to show leadership. It is the duty of leaders to acknowledge problems, take responsibility and move swiftly to address them as I did when confronted with the power challenges in my time.”

“I could have conveniently blamed the age-old underinvestment in the energy sector, but I was acutely aware that Ghanaians did not elect me to complain and blame other for problems, so I moved to fix it. And I fixed it”, he claimed

But Dr Forkuo responded that as a political party, the NDC never sit to think about policies but rather, try so hard to fish out loopholes in policies created by the NPP to ride on for political power.

He chimed in that it won’t work this time round.
