A member of the communication team member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Amaning, has said that even the IMF Boss, has said that Ghana was on a path of sustainable growth, if not for external shocks like COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war.
He noted that the NPP government has ensured that every sector of the economy had receive massive infrastructure.
Contributing to the discussion on Movement in the morning show on Movement TV/ Wontumi Radio, he said that that government had vision for the country and was on course to ensure the realization of those vision, if not for the external crisis.
According to him, he always gets upset when he hears the NDC talking about reckless spending, when they know very well that the government had invested in every sector of the economy- forgetting that for almost a year, many government workers were staying at home yet taking salaries for no job done due to COVID-19. Ghanaians had half of their utility bills slashed, yet the country’s tax revenue was affected because businesses came to a halt.
“But in all, we were vindicated by the IMF Boss. Do you remember she used Ghana as an example for countries that had tangent growth that would have been sustainable but was affected due to external factors”, he asked Kwaku Dawuro.
“This is a clear indication that government has better plans for the country which has been affected by external crisis. There are some countries where workers did not receive salaries. But ours is different due to the leadership of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo”, he added.
