A Future PNC Government Will Grant Muslims Two Holidays To Celebrate Their Eid- General Secretary

The General secretary of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Janet Nabila, has said that a future PNC government will grant two holidays to Muslims to celebrate their Eid festivities.

This, she explained was geared to ease what she described as difficulty, on sighting the crescent moon.

Contained in a statement she signed on behalf of the party to wish all Muslims a happy Eid-ul-Fitr celebration, Janet Nabila observed that “choice of Eid day is dependent on sighting the crescent moon, making the Eid day either falls at the end of 29th or the 30th day of Ramadan and as such poses some difficulty to the Muslim community on the choice of the Eid day.”

Hence, the reason for the two holidays to ease their difficulty.

The statement furthered that it’s the wish of the party that the Almighty Allah accepts from all Muslims their sacrifices and all that they have prayed for, having gone through a self-restriction from food and water- from dawn to dusk amidst other rituals in order to uplift themselves spiritually and to gain favour from Almighty Allah for themselves and the country.

She further appealed to the National Chief Imam, Prof, Shiekh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, all the regional Imams, Imams of the various sects and the entire Muslims to pray for a prosperous Ghana.
