Jokes don’t win elections and for that matter, celebrity lawyer Maurice Ampaw has sounded a word of caution to former President John Mahama to minimize the jokes he shares on his campaign platforms.
According to him, jokes are gradually taking centre stage when the former President makes a stopover to campaign.
Speaking on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, lawyer Ampaw noted that with the way the 2020 flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has started, he doesn’t see him becoming serious in the future.
“I don’t see Mahama being serious with his campaign. You have lost twice in an election but his jokes are becoming too much. “These jokes don’t win elections. How can you go to campaign and talk about tea?” he asked.
In his view, the many jokes are not helping Mr. John Mahama stage a serious comeback ahead of the 2024 Presidential elections.
