The Chief Executive Officer for Public Sector Reforms, Mr. Thomas Kusi Boafo, has descend heavily on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for not being a serious political party.
According to him, their presumptive flagbearer for the 2024 general elections Mr. John Dramani Mahama is making matters worse by joking around as if he has been hired to entertain an audience at a concert party show.
The EIU has projected a win for the opposition NDC after the 2024 General Elections in a report published on Friday, April 28, 2023 and contained in their April 2023 Country Report on Ghana.
A portion of their report read: A former president, John Mahama, launched his campaign to secure the NDC presidential candidacy in March.
However, the NDC could also choose to revitalise its prospects with a fresh candidate, such as Kwabena Duffuor, a former finance minister, who has also declared his intention to secure the party candidacy.
Reacting to a report by the EIU which claims the NDC can only win the 2024 elections if they present a fresh presidential candidate either than John Mahama, Mr. Kusi Boafo stated that it is rather unfortunate Mr. Mahama hasn’t learnt any serious political lessons in his life and put up a spirited fight to be considered a serious person in the eyes of Ghanaians.
Addressing members of the NDC directly, Mr. Boafo said “their potential candidate (Mahama), is rather going round joking like Apamdu’s band during their heydays of concert party show.”
Touching on what Mr. Mahama can do to redeem his image; Mr. Kusi Boafo challenged him to come out with a single policy.
“The NDC is not a serious party. They don’t have a single cut through policy… What are their visions on managing the economy of Ghana?” he asked.
