King Promise’s VGMA Dry Spell Ends

After losing out on winning a Vodafone Ghana Music Award (VGMA) many times in years past, King Promise has finally ended his four-year drought.

King Promise first won the Songwriter of the Year award for his hit song CCTV in 2019. However, the awards seemed to miss him every year after that.

The ‘Commando’ hitmaker at the 24th edition of the VGMA landed himself not one but two plaques in one night.

On Saturday, May 6, at the 24th edition of the annual music event, King Promise won the Afrobeats/Afropop Song of the Year.

On the same night, he also beat Black Sherif, who was tipped to win the Album of the Year by many, to grab the award.

That’s not all, he also performed a medley of some of his popular songs including Jealous, Anodwo (featured) and his new single Terminator at the Grand Arena.

Many fans on Saturday were ecstatic for King Promise.
