Presidential candidate hopeful for the New Patriotic Party (NPP),Ing. Kwabena Agyapong has said that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has a very healthy advantage and visibility over those vying for the flagbearership race.
He explained that the vice President is privileged as he has the state resources at his disposal and as such, wouldn’t have to mobilized funds to support his campaign like he (Kwabena Agyapong) is doing.
“Some of us will have to solicit for support to fuel our vehicles for campaigns and also lodge for hotels. But in his case, it’s different”, he lamented.
He said that it’s needless for others to campaign for him- he needs to be given the opportunity to do that himself.
“He’s always flying on the wings of candidate Akufo-Addo which is not right. He should be on his own as a man- he should be able to go to the delegates and share with them his vision and message, if they accept him, that fine and if the electoral outcome goes otherwise, he should accept it”, he said.
He made these known during an exclusive interview with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show on Movement TV/ Wontumi Radio.
Stressing that he’s been in government for seven (7) years and therefore has a bigger advantage.
He further advised party folks not to create what he described as non-existing tension- stressing that some candidates shouldn’t be given preference over others by executives and leadership of the party. “It brings apathy and division among party members”, he said.
