Dr. Kwabena Duffuor has withdrawn an interlocutory injunction he filed to stop the NDC primaries slated for Saturday, May 13, 2023.
Thus, has announced a discontinuation of the case.
Lawyers of Dr Duffuor told the court on Friday, May 12 that they had been instructed by their client to discontinue the case.
The request was made in court earlier in the day when the case was called for hearing. Â
There was no opposition from NDC’s legal team and that of the Electoral Commission (EC).Â
The NDC Flagbearer hopeful on Tuesday filed a case in an Accra high court on Tuesday May 9, 2023, having cited anomalies with the NDC electoral album for his suit.
The lawsuit specifically named as respondents the General Secretary of the NDC, the Director of the Elections Directorate, along with fellow flagbearer hopefuls John Dramani Mahama and another contender, Kojo Bonsu.
The Electoral Commission (EC), through its chairperson served notice to stay out from supervising the National Democratic Congress’ Presidential and Parliamentary primaries until all internal issues are resolved amicably.
