The NDC Must Be Punished For Denigrating The Judiciary- Lawyer Maurice Ampaw

A private legal Practitioner, Maurice Ampaw has stated that the judiciary is the property of every Ghanaian and not any political party.

Speaking in an interview on phone on Movement in the morning show on Movement TV and Wontumi Radio, he said it’s high time the NDC is warned to stop denigrating the judiciary and not accept it though it’s their character.

“We all own the judiciary as Ghanaians and therefore any threat on the judiciary is a threat on the ordinary Ghanaian, hence we must all rise up and speak against such act of the NDC”, he told Kwaku Dawuro.

According to him, the judiciary is under article 125 of the 1992 constitution, which says that judges must stand in the name of the judiciary and therefore they jealously guard the judiciary.

“Without the court there will be no lawyer, how much more threatening the judiciary in a bid for the ordinary Ghanaian to lose interest in them forgetting that if anything happens to the judiciary, lawyers are to suffer more”, he emphatically said.

He furthered that the Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Sam George and Dr. Michael Kpessa-Whyte must be made to face the full rigors of the law for their distasteful comments against the judiciary.
