A Journalist, Kwaku Dawuro has called on Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), to publicly give account of the Electronic transaction levy (E-levy) proceeds.
According to him, Ghanaians have already started asking about the proceeds government has made so far from the levy after it inception on 1st May , 2022, meanwhile they shouldn’t have to wait for citizens to make the request.
”Ghanaians saw that E-levy was not terrific as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presented so they should be fast about relaying information before NDC takes over in disseminating propaganda”, he said.
He went on to say, “I understand a committee has been set up at GRA to take over all conversations on the levy. They need to act swiftly and come out and tell Ghanaians how much they have made to build trust between citizens and government”.
He indicated that in terms of public education, government started on a bad note however it clear Ghanaians have become conversant with the levy.
“They should come out and give the report before Okudzeto misleads the citizens”, he added.
