The Bono East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Thomas Adu- Appiah has disclosed that prior to the 2020 general elections, Chairman Wontumi supported his region with GHC200,000 and another amount he won’t let out of the bag.
In an interview on Wontumi TV, the Bono East regional Chairman who is also known as Chairman Tooma stated that the GHC200,000 Chairman Wontumi gave to him was to support the party prepare for the 2020 registration exercise before the general elections was held.
“When the money came from Chairman Wontumi, I gave GHC10,000 to the eleven (11) constituencies in my area. What was left, I called my regional executives and we used it for party activities”, Chairman Tooma said.
Following this, Chairman Tooma stated that Chairman Wontumi called him to let him know that he has followed the way he handled the money and was impressed by it.
“Chairman Wontumi asked me to open an account with FBN, and he sent me another amount of money I don’t want to disclose”, Chairman Tooma said.
He ended by adding that he later got to know that other regional Chairmen of the NPP had also received the same support he got from Chairman Wontumi.
