Deputy communication team director for the New Patriotic Party, George Krobea Asante, has called out the chief of Dormaa, for going against the law to predetermine the fate of the MP for Assin North, James Gyakye Quayson.
In an interview with Kwaku Dawuro, on Movement In The Morning, which airs on Movement TV/Wontumi radio, Krobea lambasted the chief for disrespecting the laws of Ghana by calling on the High court to dismiss Gyakye Quayson’s case, since the people of Assin North have made a decision.
According to Krobea, such utterance from the chief being a judge himself was below the belt.
He asserted that ”you can criticise the ruling of a case in court but cannot predetermine the judgement, because if you say there is no essence of the court rule then your intention is to insult the court. So what I’m trying to say at the end of the day is that what Nana is even doing will irritate the judges the more, because there is a precedence to Gyakye Quayson’s case so I’ll beseech him.
We all know Nana’s stance and his people know the colors he wears, so when you take such stance it makes it appear as he is belittling our democracy and rule of law. We will put it as it is, and I’ll encourage Ghanaians to support the law and judicial structure so it can work.
