A member of the NPP communications team, Awal Mohammed has said that there’s no way the NDC could the 2024 election.
However, if the party doesn’t get united and put a stop to the personal attacks in their bid to become flagbearer for the party, it will go a long to affect the fortunes of the party.
He explained that prior to the 2016 and 2020 elections, the Presidential candidate hopefuls and their supporters had attacked each other and thus, gave the NDC and Mahama a lot to campaign against the NPP.
He spoke on Movement In The Morning Show on Movement TV/ Wontumi Radio.
“When you attack this government, or say that the country’s economy is in shambles, how do you expect me to campaign for you. A lot of utterances by the NDC is enough for the NDC to remain in opposition. However, the very things we say, they continue to play them over and over and use it against us”, he told Kwaku Dawuro.
He advised the Presidential aspirants of the party who have been criticizing the government they were once part of, to desist from doing so.
“For those saying the party hasn’t got any campaign message, they should stop doing so, when the Flagbearer is elected, the party will get a manifesto for the candidate. Like ti happened in 2020, the party decided to set up a 11-member committee to draft a manifesto for the party and thus, those policies were not entirely policies from Nana Addo, but those were the very things he campaigned with and same would happen in 2024”, he said.
“The NDC cannot win the next election, but our own utterances and actions may grant them that opportunity”, he emphatically stated.
He told the aspirants that there’s no way any of them could win the 2024 elections without the strength of what Nana Addo and the NDC has been able to do in the last seven years.
