VGMA Artiste of the Year, Black Sherif has gained quite a reputation for his witty and humorous responses on social media.

On Thursday, July 6, 2023, prior to the release of the official music video for “Oh Paradise” on YouTube, he had fans cracking up again with his playful comeback when a non-fan urged him not to buy views for the project.

The Twitter user pleaded, “We beg boss, don’t buy views for this awesome project 🥺.”  To this, Black Sherif replied with a dose of humor, saying, “I buy put down.”

His clever response left people amused on the platform. Users chimed in with their own jokes and comments, adding to the lighthearted exchange.

One user jokingly said, “Oh, you didn’t turn off your phone for this one 😂😂😂😂.”  Another tweeted, “YaYA show them magic, we no come to play ooo”

“Oh Paradise” is a track from his critically acclaimed album, “The Villain I Never Was.”

The song holds personal significance for Black Sherif, as it was written in honour of his high school girlfriend who passed away.

The accompanying music video tells a fictionalized version of their story, capturing the emotions of loss, funerals, and cherished memories.

Black Sherif’s popularity has soared in recent months.  His music video for “Oil In My Head,” released in June, has already accumulated over 3.7 million views in just three weeks.

However, some sceptics have raised concerns about the source of these views, suggesting the possibility of using streaming farms to boost the numbers.

Black Sherif, once again collaborated with talented director David Nicolsey for “Oh Paradise.”

Nicolsey, who was previously credited for directing Black Sherif’s acclaimed “Kwaku the Traveller” video, captures the essence of the song and takes viewers on a captivating journey.

Recognized for his artistic vision and attention to detail, Nicolsey’s involvement guarantees a visually captivating experience for viewers.

The partnership between Black Sherif,  and Nicolsey’s production company, North Production Ltd., has proven to be a successful one as they continue to showcase the 21-year-old’s artistry and creativity.
