The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Jaman South in the Bono Region, Andrews Bediako has categorically stated that the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), should jealously guard their parliamentary seats.
According to him, there was the urgent need for the party to target more of the parliamentary seats, in the run up to the 2024 general election.
This comes after he was bitterly lamenting over poor state of roads in the Jaman South municipality on Movement In The Morning Show on Movement TV/ Wontumi Radio.
“There is no proper road in Jaman South, which doesn’t speak well of us as a municipal. We lost the parliamentary seat in Jaman South because of the deplorable roads. We need to make a conscious effort to win back more seats and if we want to reclaim the Jaman South seat then we need to fix their roads. It will surprise us that if we are able to construct at least two roads within the municipality, we can get their support because it’s something they’ve been yearning for”, he told Kwaku Dawuro.
He advised that the government shouldn’t wait till election year before fixing the roads or else the electorates will vote against them.
“There’s dust everywhere in Jaman South and its very detrimental to their health. The municipality has been developed now due to their resources including cashew, cocoa among others. They love to travel but there are no proper roads there”, he added.
