Don’t Criticize Cecilia When You Are Also Hoarding Dollars In A Poly tank In Your House- Dasebre Tells Mahama

Broadcast Journalist with Wontumi Multimedia, Dasebre Agyei Dwamena has lambasted former President John Dramani Mahama for criticizing Cecilia Dapaah over her alleged  theft scandal.

According to the ace broadcaster, Mahama should have been the last person to criticize the former Sanitation minister.

He explained that he who calls for equity must come clean hands and if Mahama is calling for the persecution of the former Minster, then former President Mahama should also be investigated.

“Mahama should come and tell Ghanaians the bank from which he was able to withdraw the GHS14M cedis from, which he shared among delegates during their Presidential primaries”, he said.

He alleged that Mahama is equally hoarding money in a poly tank in his house.

“I’m daring him to come out and deny that he doesn’t have such amount in his house. He has even huge amount that what Cecilia Dapaah had which had been stolen. If he says I’m lying, then he should show Ghanaians the cheque which he used to withdraw the over $1million just in a day. If there’s anybody to criticize Cecilia Dapaah, it should never be Mahama”, he dared.

“Let’s patiently wait for investigations from the state agencies. If after investigations it emerges that indeed those monies were state funds, then we retrieve our money from her as a state”, he added.

Ms. Dapaah’s resigned from her ministerial post, on July 22, 2023, to set off a series of investigations into the reported theft that had caused shock and concern among the public.

Two of her house helps, Patience Botwe (18) and Sarah Agyei (30), were previously charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and five counts of stealing, following the alleged incidents between July and October 2022.

During this period, items including assorted clothes worth GHC95,000, handbags, perfumes, and jewelry valued at $95,000 were said to have been stolen from the former Minister’s residence in the Abelemkpe area of Accra. Patience Botwe was also accused of stealing six sets of kente cloth worth GHC90,000 and six sets of men’s suits valued at $3,000, which belonged to Ms. Dapaah’s husband. Furthermore, three other individuals, including Botwe’s current and former boyfriends and her father, are also facing charges for allegedly being involved in dishonestly receiving GHC1 million, GHC180,000, and GHC50,000, respectively.
