A Journanlist, Kwaku Dawuro, says Okudzeto Ablakwa is inciting Ghanaians against the Men of God who are on Board of Trustees for the building of the National Cathedral.
His comment comes at the back of Okudzeto’s propaganda tour on the building of the National Cathedral.
In 2016, President Akufo-Addo promised to build a Cathedral for God and for the State. The Cathedral when constructed will have a 5,000 seating capacity auditorium with chapels and baptistery, conference rooms, house of music, and a museum of bible and art gallery. The project is said to reflect the the art and culture of Ghanians, provide employment opportunities and create revenue for the country. However, Okudjeto Ablakwa and some NDC members are going about provoking Ghanaians against the government with false allegations and non-factual arguments of economic wobbles.
Dawuro speaking on the appalling actions of the North Tongu Member of Parliament (MP) he said, ‘’all Okudzeto Ablakwa wants to achieve is to incite the public against government and the Men of God on the Board of Trustees. And now he is almost succeeding. Dr Mensa Otabil has resigned and I have heard other three men of God have plans resigning’’.
He went on to probe, ”if the Board of Trustee collapses what are we going to do with the foundation and all the building that were brought down? Are they going to use it for hen coop?’’.
He further added that a lot of money has already gone into the project and it cannot go waste.
‘’Okudjeto Ablakwa is using all platforms to destroy the great vision the President has for Ghanaians just to make the government unpopular. I do not expect the Men of God to resign at this critical moment, they should rise up and ensure the Cathedral is built’’, he stated.
He advised the Ministry of Finance to be transparent and release money when the need be.
He additionally said, ‘’the chairman of the board has written letter severally to the finance ministry but they have refused to release money to them. Are they stealing the money? The money belongs to Ghanaians and it should be used in the interest of the good people of Ghana. They are only giving the NDC the room to spread their false allegations and the public might end up losing trust in the government’’, he stressed.
