Let’s Not Force Any Candidate On The Party- Philip Twum Advises NPP Ahead Of Its Primaries

Aspiring Parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), in New Juaben, Philip Twum Yeboah has warned the party to ensure that no candidate is forced on that to accept as flagbearer for elections 2024.

He indicated that should anything of sort happen, then the party would definitely go to opposition because apathy will set in, which will contribute to the defeat of the party.

“When people members are allowed to choose a flagbearer of their choice…then they would work hard to ensure that the elected candidate is marketed so well to win the general elections…but when the otherwise happens, then the members wouldn’t be happy about all.”, he told Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV/ Wontumi radio.

He predicted that the Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong will win the polls on Saturday followed by Vice President, Dr. Bawumia and former Trades Minister, Alan Kojo Kyeremanteng.

“It’s a friendly contest and this is what makes NPP stands out…I could have joined any other party but, still a member of the NPP because I know how beneficial the party is to Ghanaians…this is the party that believes in resourcing its citizenry….”, he said.

He urged the rank and file of the party to ensure that everyone abide by the guidelines set out by the party to ensure a smooth and successful Presidential primary…urging that whoever that flout the rules should be dealt accordingly.

“Let’s all work very hard to break-the-eight-year jinx because NPP is the only party that could save Ghana”, he advised party supporters.
