The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has slammed Franklin Cudjoe and a host of others for not redeeming their image by acknowledging that the war between Russia and Ukraine, has had a devastating effect on global economy.
The NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi was in awe that the President of policy think tank IMANI Ghana continues to speak “from an empty stomach laced with his personal emotions” instead of attaching “wisdom” to the subject.
Franklin Cudjoe is on record to have called on Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia to comment on the challenges the Ghanaian economy is experiencing since his political future depends on it.
“It is important our Veep, Dr. Bawumia tell us what went wrong with our apparent buoyant economy and what can be done to save it. His political future depends on it,” he wrote on his Facebook handle.
But Chairman Wontumi who spoke to Movementtvonline.com in Accra, stated that the hardships being experienced across the world, was not the creation of the NPP government but rather, a natural occurrence that has been fueled by the outbreak of COVID and recently, the war in Europe.
“I pointed it out last time to Franklin Cudjoe that he is blockheaded when it comes to economics. COVID, the Russia and Ukraine war has created devastating effect for the world and I expect Franklin Cudjoe to say we should opt for E-levy, it would really help the economy of Ghana”, Chairman Wontumi said.
He also took a swipe at Mr. John Mahama and Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin noting that their comments on the e-levy debate makes no sense.

According to Chairman Wontumi, Mr. John Mahama has exposed himself as someone who can’t be trusted when it comes to speaking about Ghana’s economy.
He also berated the Speaker of Parliament for saying that passing the E-levy would take the ruling NPP government to opposition.
“What wisdom was even in the statement Speaker of Parliament made when he said the introduction of E-levy would send the NPP to opposition? There was no sense in his statement and he knows the introduction of it would make the NPP easily win the 2024 elections”, Chairman Wontumi said.
