Ato Forson And Eric Opoku Have Their DNA’s Filled With Lies- CEO, COCOBOD

The CEO of Ghana COCOBOD, Joseph Boahen Aidoo, has rebuked the minority leader in Parliament and the NDC for criticizing government for the increment of producer price for cocoa.

According to the Minority, the recent increase in cocoa prices by the government is actually a rip off on the famers.

In a press conference in the Ahafo Region, the Minority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson accused the government of shortchanging the farmers. He said farmers should have received at least GH¢2,500 per cocoa bag, considering the high price of cocoa on the international market.

However, Mr. Aidoo noted that the NDC should acquaint themselves with the process involved in determining the producer price of cocoa.

He noted that the Minority leader, Ato Forson and honourable Eric Opoku have their DNAs filled with lies and that is the reason for which they deliberately spite lies when they know the truth.

“During the tenure of former CEO of COCOBOD, Dr. Opuni, he was receiving GHS75,000 as salary every month. This is because COCOBOD staff are classified as class A workers, so the CEO is of the pedal with the Bank of Ghana Governor…However, when I became the CEO, I had to ensure that my salary was reduced from GHS75,000 to GHS65,000. Even with that, I still don’t feel comfortable because I think we need to be moderate”, he said whiles speaking exclusively to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV.

He went further to say that the vehicle Dr. Opuni was using during his tenure, when he, Mr. Aido came into office since 2014, it’s the same car he is still using because he’s been moderate.

He added that the NDC would have been familiar with the process for determining the producer price of cocoa, since they’ve been in government before.

However, they decided to use the current international market price of cocoa at $3,600 per tonne as the basis for their calculation on the recently announced producer price.
