Deputy director in charge of protocol for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Frimpong has debunked claims by the NDC that the NPP is in bed with the EC.
This comes after other political parties had raised concerns over silence of the governing party, over the limited voters registration.
But then, Kwabena Frimpong noted that NPP is equally faced with challenges on how to mobilize people to get them register for their voters ID.
However, they’ve kept silence about it because it’s the Electoral Commission is an independent body that cannot be controlled.
” What the NDC do is to work on the emotions and do things to make the governing party look bad in the eyes of Ghanaians, so that when they lose the elections, they will make it look as though they’ve been vindicated. This is exactly what they did in 2008″, he spoke on Movement TV.
“There’s no way the EC will provide vehicles to convey only NPP supporters to the district offices of the EC. So, why then will the NDC say the decision by the EC is going in favour of the NPP. We are equally facing challenges as a party…the mobilization of applicants is to the advantage of the political parties”, he explained.
He further cautioned the NDC to desist from accusing the NPP of being in bed with the Electoral Commission.
