A communications team member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Solomon Kusi Appiah, has stated that former President John Dramani Mahama, doesn’t qualify to be the flagbearer of the NDC not to talk more of becoming a President.Â
Reacting to the former President’s address on the theme ‘Ghana debt burden; reflections and solutions’ on Movement In The Morning Show, Appiah stated that “if firing the Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta is the solution he could proffer, then he doesn’t deserve to contest as a Presidential candidate in Ghana. He should just resign from politics- it’s not just about speaking but particularly about what you say. If he has nothing better to say, he should shut up”
According to him, Mr. Mahama should have implemented the solutions he’s proffering when he had the opportunity to become the President not when he’s now in opposition.Â
“Of what benefit did Ghanaians gain from you when you were the President? You only resorted to the IMF for a bailout with harsh conditionalities. there was nothing like Covid-19 nor any war, but you couldn’t manage the economy. Yet you have the effrontery to proffer solutions to a government managing an economy like never before even in times of crisis”, he stressed.Â
He added that “look at how foreigners are trooping into the country even in times of crisis. This is because they’re enticed with the enabling environment created by His Excellency Nana Addo and the NPP government.”
In furtherance, he did indicate that Nana Addo and the NPP has rendered former President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC useless.Â
