Managing Editor of the Daily Dispatch newspaper and pollster, Ben Ephson, has commended the NPP for what he described as successful, the just ended Parliamentary primaries.
According to him, the party did so well by not protecting any candidate from running unopposed.
This, he noted that was the cause of the party’s downfall in the parliament, leading to the loss of many seats during the 2020 general elections.
“I think the party has done well. They have learnt their lessons from 2020. In some constituencies the electorates voted massively for Nana Addo, but voted against the NPP Parliamentary candidate, this is an indication that they had a problem with the candidate. This is the reason NDC won about 30 new seats”, he said this while speaking to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning show.
He noted that if the party had attempted protecting some candidate, what happened during the 2020 elections, would have repeated.
