Morning show host on Movement TV, Kwaku Dawuro, has urged flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to fast track the process of naming his running mate for the general election.
He noted that as long as the naming continues to delay, the more it havocs it brings, as people continue to speculate false assertions, either in a bid to campaign for themselves, or tarnish the image of potential candidates.
“The truth of the matter is that the more Dr. Bawumia keeps us all waiting, the more problems it keeps creating and this is the reason we will urge him to be quick in naming whom his running mate will be and that will settle the ongoing tussles”, Dawuro said.
Meanwhile, the Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, has urged supporters to refrain from putting pressure on the party’s flagbearer, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, regarding the selection of his running mate for the upcoming elections.
Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu stressed the importance of allowing the party’s flagbearer the independence to make his own decision on the choice of a running mate, believing it would contribute to the unity and success of the party.
The Parliamentary Affairs Minister expressed confidence in Dr Bawumia’s intelligence and anticipated that he would make a judicious choice in the best interest of the party.
