Some State CEO’s Are Sleeping On The Job – Afia Akoto

A member of the NPP’s national communications team, Maame Afia Akoto has disclosed that many government appointees, are not helping the government address the issue of youth unemployment in the country.

According to her, most CEOs of state institutions are sleeping on the job.

“How many NABCO personnel did the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) employed when there were job vacancies. I want to know if the President has appointees at the GRA who have been updating him? As we speak, GRA has employed over Eight Hundred people and yet, not even a single beneficiary of NABCO is included”, she said.

She lamented over the manner at which some government appointees deliberately ignore members of the party.

“We are the ones that the foot soldiers have been calling and sending messages whenever they are going through a problem, yet, if we call most CEOs, they don’t respond to us, how then do we satisfy them…we cannot win the elections with the absence of these people, and this is the reason we shouldn’t be ignoring them. We have faith in Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and it’s against this background we want such trivial issues resolved. Most of the appointees are not helping and I want to continue to do this campaign even after election”, she added.

She praised CEO for National Entrepreneurship Innovation Program (NEIP), Mr. Ofosu Nkansah and Minister designate for Interior, Henry Quartey, for also giving ears to party foot soldiers.

“We need more of such people in our space. They will also return calls and messages after missing them”, she added.
