Our Musicians Don’t Have Managers, They Have Errand Boys – Sally Mann

Seasoned entertainment critic, Sally Frimpong Mann, has indicated that there are no artiste managers in Ghana but errand boys.

“All the artists in this country control their managers, So if they dictate to you, you are not a manager. You are an errand boy,” she told Christian Agyei Frimpong on Onua FM’s Anigye mmere entertainment and lifestyle show.

She explained that if the artiste managers don’t have the financial muscle to invest in the people they manage, they are not fit for the managerial position.

“It’s hard for girls who make music in this country. We don’t have executive producers in the industry. So artistes will work and then invest in their respective music careers. Sometimes, it’s draining. When I was listening to iOna, she implied she does everything by herself.

“If they invest in the artist, then they have a say. We can then consider calling them managers, but as it stands now, all of them are errand boys,” she emphasized.
