A member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kafui Amegah has noted that the achievement of the Akufo-Addo’s administration in the health sector is unmatched.
He said Ghana’s health sector has seen improvement due to the systems put in place by President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Citing the resuscitation of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), distribution of ambulances to all constituencies amongst other systems, Kafui Amegah said the NPP government has performed better.
Speaking on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV, with Kwaku Dawuro, he said the New Patriotic Party government’s work in the health sector as compared to the NDC’s tenure in office is preferable.
“In Greater Accra alone, we started from scratch, the construction of five polyclinics, and currently it’s been completed. There’s one in Obojo, Adenta, Ashaiman, Bortianor, Oduman and Sege…These polyclinics are not only, completed but also fully equipped and has been handed over to the respective communities…. We are equipping some regional Hospitals in Kumasi, we have Twifo Praso, Tepa, Nsawkaw….Beyond this, we have also completed five district Hospitals, and these could be found in Sawla, Tolon, Somanya. Buipe…All these were done by the Akufo-Addo led government”, he said.
Having said this, he debunked assertions that there’s not a single hospital that the NPP hasn’t started from scratch that has been completed.
“In my own constituency too, there’s a trauma Centre which has been completed and commissioned….The are others that are also in its final stage of completion- one of such hospitals, is the 100-bed capacity hospital in Anyinam”, he added.
