The campaign to appoint Frema Osei-Opare, the Chief of Staff, as the running mate for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming elections has gained momentum.
Traders across Greater Accra have joined the chorus, urging Dr. Bawumia to select Frema as his running mate.
A visit to various markets across the country, including Mallam Atta Market, Odorkor Market, Accra Brewery Market, Kantamanto Market, the traders praised Frema’s leadership skills and her dedication to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“Frema has been a loyal and hardworking Chief of staff” a trader said.
“She has the experience and expertise to help Dr. Bawumia lead our country to prosperity.”
The traders were seen holding placards, which had the Chief of Staff’s image and a few inscriptions, to drum home their demands- urging him to consider Frema as his running mate.
They cited her achievements as Chief of Staff, including her role in the implementation of the government’s flagship programs.
As the campaign heats up, supporters of Frema have taken to social media to express their support for her candidacy.
The hashtag #FremaForNPPRunningMate has been trending on Twitter, with many calling on Dr. Bawumia to choose Frema as his running mate.
Frema’s supporters argue that she has the qualities and experience needed to help Dr. Bawumia win the election and govern the country effectively.
With the election drawing near, the choice of running mate is seen as crucial to the NPP’s chances of winning.
The selection of Frema as running mate would be a historic moment for the NPP, as she would be the first female running mate in the party’s history.
