Adopt Renewable Energy For Optimum Benefit—RIFE Regional Manager

The Regional Manager of RIFE International (West Africa), Kwaku Osei-Sarpong, has called on local firms especially those in the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) space to incorporate renewable energy into their energy sources to address their power needs.

He said renewable energy provided cleaner and environmentally friendly domestic electricity and also offered opportunities for the growth of local businesses.

Towards that, he said RIFE International was in the process of designing an innovative financing scheme that would allow small businesses, commercial firms and industries to utilize renewable and energy efficiency alternatives that were affordable, sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Speaking to the media after receiving award at the 34th West African Nobles Forum (WANF) Award in Accra, Mr Osei-Sarpong observed that the RIFE was spearheading the drive for clean energy in West Africa, with a focus on climate change mitigation, clean energy finance and sustainable infrastructure.

He said it will execute its intended plan while providing solar energy solutions to small and medium enterprises as well as commercial and industrial clients.

He expressed gratitude to the forum for the honour done to him and reiterated the company’s position of providing sustainable and affordable energy to businesses in Ghana and West Africa.

The award

Mr Osei-Sarpong received the Business Excellence and Integrity Award for his tremendous achievements and contribution to Ghana’s renewable and energy efficiency sector.

The West African Nobles Forum is a non-governmental, non-religious and non-political organization that seeks to pull together and award prominent West Africans of noble minds and tremendous achievements who have performed nobly in their chosen area of endeavors through annual awards ceremony.

The event was attended by a group of eminent West Africans made up of public officials, legal luminaries, politicians, technocrats, as well as captains of industries who have upheld the virtues of integrity, honesty and accountability.

Aside Osei-Sarpong, other distinguished awardees this year included Kwasi Agyemang Busia-CEO of DVLA, Isaac Kofi Egyir- Director General of Ghana Prisons, Adeladie Araba Siaw Agyepong – Founder of America International School, Daniel Acheampong, Managing Director- VALCO, and Rashida Saani Nasamu -Chief Executive of I-ZAR Group.
