A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications team, Alfred Ababio, has expressed concern over the party’s inability to effectively communicate the government’s numerous achievements to the public.
According to Ababio, the party has failed to adequately highlight several significant accomplishments, including the implementation of the One District, One Factory (1D1F) initiative in 169 districts, the completion of 40 projects under the Agenda 111 program, and the construction of 12 interchanges, among others.
Speaking on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV with Kwaku Dawuro, Adenta Kumi stated that “we, as communicators, have failed to let the people of Ghana know about the good things that the government has done.”
“It’s time for us to step up our efforts and showcase the positive impact of our government’s initiatives.”
Ababio’s comments come as the government faces criticism for not doing enough to publicize its achievements. The NPP communications team member’s admission is seen as a rare acknowledgment of the party’s shortcomings in communicating its successes to the public.
The government’s achievements, including the ongoing development of the Obetsebi interchange in East Legon, the Adenta-Dodowa road project, and the Kumasi bypass project, have been touted as significant milestones in the country’s development.
However, Ababio’s comments suggest that more needs to be done to effectively communicate these achievements to the public.
