Action Alliance Party Receives Final Certificate From Electoral Commission

In a significant milestone, the Action Alliance Party (AAP) has secured its final certificate from the Electoral Commission (EC), officially recognizing it as a political party eligible to participate in future elections.

At a brief ceremony held at the EC headquarters in Accra, Dr. Benjamin Bano-Bioh, Director of Electoral Services, presented the certificate to the party’s leadership.

This certification is in line with Section 8(2) of the Political Parties Act, 2000 (Act 574), solidifying AAP’s status as a recognized political party.

Dr. Bano-Bioh emphasized that the EC will closely monitor AAP’s compliance with the Political Parties Law, specifically highlighting the requirement for parties to establish offices in at least two-thirds of the country’s districts.

Action Alliance Party’s founder and leader, Hon. Namuru Tahiru, expressed gratitude to the EC for granting the final certificate, building on the provisional certificate received in 2020.

Despite the fact that they are unable to contest this year’s elections, Hon. Tahiru mentioned that they will throw their weight behind a party that they deem fit to.

Formed in 2018, Action Alliance Party joins the ranks of 14 registered political parties in Ghana.
