NPP’s Commitment To Education And Development In Zongo Communities Unmatched- Alhaji Abdul Futa

The National NASARA Coordinator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa, has highlighted the party’s commitment to Muslim inclusivity and development initiatives.

Speaking on Movement TV/Wontumi Radio’s “Movement in the Morning” show, Alhaji Abdul Aziz revealed that for the first time since Ghana gained independence, a Muslim, Alhaji Justice Tango, has been appointed to the Supreme Court under President Akufo-Addo’s administration.

According to Alhaji Abdul Aziz, this historic appointment demonstrates the NPP’s dedication to promoting diversity and inclusivity in Ghana’s highest institutions. He also noted that Fatimatu Abubakar’s appointment as Information Minister marks another significant milestone, as she is the first Muslim to hold the position.

Alhaji Abdul Aziz further emphasized the NPP’s commitment to education and development in Zongo communities. He pointed out that President Akufo-Addo’s government has introduced scholarship programs, which were nonexistent during the tenure of former Presidents Jerry John Rawlings and John Mahama.

Additionally, Alhaji Abdul Aziz highlighted the renovation of the Astroturf Zongo Development Fund, a project aimed at enhancing infrastructure and opportunities in Zongo communities.

The NPP’s support for Arabic instructors was also praised by Alhaji Abdul Aziz. He explained that former President John Agyekum Kufuor introduced the program, which provided financial support to instructors. Although the program was cancelled by subsequent administrations, the current NPP government, led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has reinstated it, paying GH¢6,300 monthly to the instructors.

Alhaji Abdul Aziz concluded by emphasizing that Dr. Bawumia’s selection as the NPP flagbearer was based on his competence and ability to address the country’s challenges, rather than his religious affiliation.
