Intensify Efforts- Gifty Twum Ampofo Urges NPP Campaign Team

Former Deputy Minister for Education and Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North Constituency, Gifty Twum Ampofo, has encouraged the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate to keep the campaign momentum going.

She emphasized that the next 11 days are crucial and urged the campaign team to put in extra effort.

Speaking in an interview with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement TV/Wontumi Radio’s Movement In The Morning show, she noted that the upcoming election is critical, and the NPP must win to ensure the country’s progress.

She cautioned that if the NPP fails to win, the country will be set back.

Mrs. Gifty Ampofo also highlighted the importance of the upcoming budget, noting that the Finance Minister is required by law to present the budget for January to March 2025. She warned that failure to do so would result in severe consequences, including the inability to fund essential services like health insurance and school feeding programs.

Additionally, she pointed out that without a budget, the government would be unable to pay workers’ salaries or pensions.

Ampofo attributed the current parliamentary stalemate to the equal number of seats held by the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC). She explained that the NDC’s recent gain of a seat has resulted in a 137-138 split, making it challenging for the House to pass legislation.

She further reassured NPP supporters that if Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia wins the presidential election, they should remain calm, as the current political maneuvers are merely a strategy.

She urged NPP members to focus on the upcoming election and ensure a victorious outcome for the party.
