Trey Songs Ordered To Pay $11Million For Assaulting Cop

Musician Trey Songz has been ordered to pay over $11 million in a civil battery case stemming from a 2021 incident involving a Maryland Capitol police officer, Tyrelle Dunn.

According to court documents, Dunn filed the lawsuit after claiming he was injured while attempting to help his wife during an altercation in Songz’s Las Vegas hotel room.

The incident occurred in November 2021 while Songz was celebrating his 37th birthday at The Cosmopolitan. Dunn alleged in his suit that his wife was in Songz’s hotel room with a group of women when she screamed for help, claiming she was being held against her will.

Dunn said he rushed to intervene but was attacked by Songz and his security team. The altercation reportedly left Dunn with severe injuries, including fractured eye sockets and lasting scars, which caused him to miss work.

Although Songz was cleared of criminal charges in April 2022, Dunn pursued a civil case. The lawsuit alleged negligence and sought compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, and punitive damages. Court records show Songz did not respond to the lawsuit, leading to a default judgment in Dunn’s favor.

A Las Vegas judge ruled in favor of Dunn, awarding millions to cover his injuries and losses.

This ruling marks another legal challenge for the “Bottoms Up” singer, whose career has been overshadowed in recent years by various allegations and controversies.

Despite the court’s decision, Songz has not yet commented publicly on the judgment or whether he intends to appeal.
