FIFA Opens First Permanent Regional Office In Morocco

FIFA has opened its first-ever African permanent regional office in Rabat, Morocco in a bid to strengthen international relations and promote inclusivity among member federations, as well as enhance and promote football in Africa and beyond,

FIFA’s African office in Rabat is seen as a game-changer for African football as it will provide technical and administrative support to local federations and promote football development across the continent.

An agreement was reached on Monday between FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Morocco’s Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, who both signed the documents.

Experts view this move as reflecting Morocco’s commitment to enhancing its position as a regional and global sports hub, especially given its success in hosting several major sporting events.

Morocco’s latest milestone adds to its growing national presence in football as the country prepares to co-host the 2030 World Cup with Spain and Portugal.

Essentially, the opening of FIFA’s first permanent African regional office in Rabat, Morocco, marks a new chapter in African football history as the continent’s football scales new heights.
