Government Cannot Redraw LGBTQ Bill- Andy Kwame Appiah Kubi Insists

Former Member of Parliament for Akyem Asante North, Hon. Andy Kwame Appiah Kubi who doubles as a legal practitioner, has emphasized that the government has no authority to redraw the LGBTQ Bill from Parliament.

In an interview with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement TV/Wontumi Radio, Appiah Kubi explained that the bill was completed under the 8th Parliament, but unfortunately, it was not accepted by the 8th government, and thus, it has been transferred to the 9th government.

Appiah Kubi stressed that it is unconstitutional for the current government to redraw the LGBTQ bill from Parliament.

Instead, he argued that Parliament should have sent the bill to the President for signature, as any further attempts to redraw the bill could lead to a return of applications for injunctions.
