Boycott Invitations From ORAL Team – Minority Tells Former Gov’t Appointees

The Minority in Parliament has urged former government appointees to reject invitations from the recently established Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) committee, labeling its formation unconstitutional.

John Darko, Minority Leader and Suame MP, argued that existing constitutional bodies are sufficient to investigate alleged misconduct.

He described ORAL’s establishment as unnecessary and urged former officials to boycott its activities.

“No serious country would entertain such a committee,” Darko stated, reaffirming the Minority’s position against participation.

ORAL, chaired by North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, was set up on December 18, 2024, to recover looted state assets.

However, the Minority insists the committee undermines constitutionally mandated institutions tasked with addressing such matters.
