Drake Drops Legal Petition Accusing Spotify And UMG Boosting Kendrick Lamar’s Song

Drake has withdrawn his petition against Spotify and Universal Music Group (UMG), which accused them of artificially inflating the popularity of Kendrick Lamar’s diss track, *Not Like Us*.

Filed in New York, the petition alleged UMG and Spotify used bots and reduced licensing rates to manipulate streaming numbers.

UMG dismissed the claims as “offensive and untrue,” emphasizing ethical practices, while Spotify denied involvement, asserting no economic incentive to favor Lamar’s track over Drake’s.

The controversy stemmed from a public feud between Drake and Lamar, ignited in early 2024 and culminating with *Not Like Us*, which became a major hit.

Despite heated exchanges and legal threats, Drake has now met with representatives, withdrawing his claims without further objections from Spotify or UMG.
