Black Princesses Captain Evelyn Badu Out Of USA Opener After Suffering Ankle Injury

Ghana’s Black Princesses will be without captain Evelyn Badu for their U – 20 World Cup opener against the USA after she injured her right ankle.

The incident occurred on the eve of their opener against the USA.

She has been pictured wearing an ankle boot on her right foot.

Team doctors are still awaiting scans to enable them determine the severity of the injury.

It is feared that she could be ruled out for the remainder of the tournament which is happening in Costa Rica.

Badu’s injury is a big blow for the player who has seen a meteoric rise in women’s football circles in recent years due to her goalscoring prowess and creative spark.

She is the current CAF Interclub Player of the year as well as the CAF Young player of the year.

The tournament is scheduled in Costa Rica from Wednesday, August 10 to Sunday, August 28, 2022.

Ghana are paired in Group D with the United States, the Netherlands and Japan.
