Nsoatreman FC Condemns Violence At Match Venue, Pledges To Cooperate With Investigations

Ghana Premier League side Nsoatreman FC has strongly condemned the violent incidents that occurred during their league match against Asante Kotoko on Sunday afternoon.

The defending FA Cup champions hosted the Porcupine Warriors in the Matchday 19 fixture of the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League at the Nana Koromansah II Stadium.

Unfortunately, the match was marred by violent scenes, leading to a confrontation between players and staff from both teams.

The altercation also extended to the fans, resulting in the tragic death of a Kotoko supporter, Francis Frimpong, affectionately known as Pooley.

Pooley was reportedly stabbed by unknown attackers while trying to protect himself.

In the aftermath of the match, Nsoatreman FC issued an official statement offering their condolences to Asante Kotoko and condemning the violence.

The club also emphasized its commitment to fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

Additionally, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has imposed a ban on the Nana Koromansah II Stadium and launched an inquiry into the violent clashes.
