Nana Nkansah Boadu Wins Ashanti Region Council Of State Elections As NDC Thugs Attempt To Disrupt Proceedings

A group of thugs believed to be loyal to the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) have caused disruption to proceedings of the Ashanti Regional Council of State elections upon realizing that the Chief of Agric Nzema, Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo was cruising to victory.

According to reports, the thugs stormed the electoral grounds at the premises of the Regional Coordinating Council and disrupted proceedings just when the popular Kumasi Chief, who is also affiliated to the opposition New Patriotic Party was about to be declared victorious, having secured 49 votes out of total of 86 votes cast.

Information indicates that Nana Nkansah Boadu, who contested with 11 others, had secured 49 votes whilst voting was still ongoing and had all but secured emphatic victory, when the thugs stormed the polling station to cause commotion.

A video that has since gone viral showed how heavily built men, numbering about 10 invaded the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council, destroying materials under the watch of police officers who appeared to do little at the initial to stop the marauding thugs.

Reports however indicate that after several minutes of banter, amidst chanting of NDC revolutionary songs, calm was restored.

However, it appears the victory of Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo is undisputed, as he is set to make history as the first candidate to defy the odds as an NPP affiliate to secure the enviable slot under an NDC administration.
