Three Dead, Others Injured In Gory Accident At Ohene Nkwanta

Three people, including a mother and daughter, have died on the spot in an accident at Ohene Nkwanta on the Accra-Kumasi Highway in the Ashanti Region.

The incident occurred on Wednesday when a Zhong Tong KS Transport Service bus with registration number GW 5547-23, carrying 36 passengers, collided with a Chevrolet Kalo Taxi, registration number AS 1766-18.

Several passengers who sustained injuries have been treated and discharged, while others remain admitted at the Konongo-Odumasi Government Hospital.

The Konongo-Odumasi Municipal Fire Commander, Kojo Baiden, who confirmed the accident, stated that it occurred at 12:00 am.

 An officer of the Metro Transport and Traffic Directorate(MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, Daniel Maulerdey Mawuli narrated that the bus was traveling from Kumasi to Aflao when the taxi driver, attempting a wrongful overtaking, crashed into the bus, which was navigating a sharp curve at Ohene Nkwanta.

The collision resulted in the instant death of three people.

The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at Steward Hospital Morgue in Yawkwei.
