A communicator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Amaning, has said Hopeson Adorye has bought empathy vote for Dr Mahamuhu Bawumia with his recent comment on the Dombo’s.
While speaking with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show, Mr. Amaning said the former Kpone Katamanso Parliamentary candidate’s comment has positively aided Dr. Bawumia’s campaign for his flagbearership race.
He said, ‘’Hopeson Adorye is assisting Dr. Bawumia’s campiagn with his tribalism comment. He has already bought sympathy vote him. We’ve seen sympathy voting happened on several occasions; we saw this in the 2012 elections. When you attack someone, the people see him or her as a minor and they get empowered to vote for him or her. People want the best for the party and it is not about what you want”.
He advised candidates to be selective about the people they allow to lead their campaign, and urged party members to refrain from speeches that may breed disunity.
This comes after Hopeson Adorye made a comment during the walk for Alan-Kyeremanten which was cited as inappropriate.
Mr. Adorye said, “The NPP has a tradition. Our tradition is Busia, Danquah and Dombo. Danquah represents Eastern Region and the bottom (south), Danquah represents Ashanti Region and the Bono areas, while Dombo represents Northern Region. The Dombos are always in the mix and fit as running mates to either a Danquah candidate or a Busia candidate. That tradition must continue.”
